They have outstanding characteristics such as light weight and strong compressive strength, and are highly favored in the field of construction.
However, although they are both made of steel and have very similar uses, many people cannot distinguish between C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel. Therefore, the editor will briefly tell you the difference between C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel
1. Different angles. The angle of C-shaped steel is 90 degrees, while the angle of Z-shaped steel is less than 90 degrees. C-shaped steel bracket in stock. So when using purlins on a roof with a certain slope, the angle of the purlins should be considered. Z-shaped steel can fully utilize its bending performance by using purlins on steep slopes.
2. There is a significant difference in the mechanical properties of the strong and weak axes between the C-shaped steel section and the Z-shaped steel section, and the connection with the steel frame is mostly bolted hinged. The calculation formula must be considered from the perspective of simple support, and analyzed from the perspectives of stress state, structure, and calculation results, in order to be more reasonable. Therefore, in general, in addition to door and window openings and other special node processing needs, Z-shaped steel sections should be given priority.
3. In the case of a small roof slope, the bending section modulus of Z-shaped steel purlins is slightly higher than that of C-shaped steel purlins, but the difference is not significant. As the roof slope increases, the utilization rate of the bending section modulus of Z-shaped purlins symmetrical to the vertical direction increases. Therefore, Z-shaped purlins are suitable for roofs with larger slopes.
